Ben Yaeger, M.F.A
COLLEGE MATCHPOINT ESSAY COACH
Ben is a graduate of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and of the MFA program in Creative Writing at the University of Montana, where he taught composition classes and fiction workshops. He has worked for literary agencies and written for small publications, including Outside Magazine, a local newspaper in Alaska, and Yale Medicine Magazine. This is his first season with College MatchPoint.
“My favorite part of the process is discussing a student's life beyond what's central to their resume and finding meaning in unlikely places and small details. I like to look at the pieces a student has and make associations that connect them to a larger form and insight—to see what we can ultimately make their essay about and watch their eyes light up at what they created.”

"College MatchPoint helps steer and advise you from beginning to end of the college search and application process. They take what can be a very stressful time and break it down into smaller, manageable pieces. Bob, Lisa and their staff support their student clients, enabling them to find the best fit. You can trust that the process will work; it did for all 3 of my very different kids."
