Molly Gully

SENIOR COLLEGE COACH

Molly Gully brings two decades of experience in college admissions, academic advising, and student success leadership to her role as a college coach. Her background includes senior positions at The University of Texas at Austin, where she supported students across several colleges, including the McCombs School of Business, the Cockrell School of Engineering, and the Vick Center for Strategic Advising and Career Counseling.


Molly is recognized for helping students find clarity, confidence, and momentum as they navigate their journey to college. She combines deep listening skills with data-informed insights to guide students toward majors and college lists that reflect their strengths, interests, and values. Her thoughtful and strategic approach allows students to see how their unique story connects to their future goals.


Her coaching style is warm and structured. Molly supports students and parents through key decisions by creating a calm and encouraging environment. She encourages reflection, growth, and ownership by helping each student feel grounded and equipped to make meaningful decisions.


Before joining College MatchPoint, Molly led major student success efforts. She worked to improve graduation rates at public universities and played a central role in redesigning the Texas college application system to be more student-friendly. As a Senior Director at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, she also helped launch the state’s first Direct Admissions program. Families value her ability to translate complex systems into clear and actionable guidance.


Molly earned both her BA in Humanities and her Master of Counseling from Arizona State University. She spent her teen years in Singapore, which sparked a lifelong love of travel, cross-cultural connection, and learning. At home in Austin, she enjoys reading, taking long walks with her goldendoodle, and spending time with her husband and teenage daughter.
