Here is our 6 point checklist for SAT/ACT test prep:
1. Take practice tests. Take full-length practice SAT and ACT tests under timed conditions to get used to the format and pace. Review your mistakes and identify areas for improvement.
2. Study content areas. Review math, reading, writing, and science content covered on the SAT and ACT. Use prep books, online resources, or a tutor to help fill in any gaps in your knowledge.
3. Learn test strategies. Become familiar with strategies like process of elimination for multiple choice questions, pacing yourself, and how to approach different types of passages or problems.
4. Work on your weaknesses. Spend more time studying the content areas and question types you struggle with the most. Continue taking practice tests to measure your progress.
5. Simulate test day conditions. Take practice tests in an environment that mimics the real test day. Time yourself strictly and do not use any other materials besides the test booklet.
6. Stay motivated! Follow a study schedule and remember why getting a good score matters to you. Visualize yourself succeeding on test day to stay encouraged.
