COLLEGE CONSULTANTS (FULL AND PART-TIME)


College MatchPoint is hiring college consultants (including a senior consultant)  to join our rapidly expanding team. As a consultant, you will guide a caseload of 40-60 students through the college planning and application process. You will join a team of intelligent, passionate, caring, relentless professionals who are deeply committed to helping students.  We will provide you with all the tools you need to succeed, including administrative support, billing, a project management platform, and marketing. You will follow our proven model of success, which includes the most current technology tools combined with good old-fashioned client care. We are currently looking for part-time and full-time virtual consultants.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Coach 40-60 students through the college planning process using the College MatchPoint system
  • Advise students on their high school academic and extracurricular choices
  • Manage student deadlines throughout the college application process
  • Develop key relationships in your area to generate additional client base
  • Attend professional development events to continuously increase your knowledge of the college planning process
  • Write articles for the College MatchPoint newsletter and blog
  • Represent College MatchPoint at conferences and community events


Qualifications Needed


  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
  • 3+ years experience in college counseling or college admissions or related field
  • Commitment to the positive development of students and their families
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Good sense of humor
  • Highest ethical standards
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as well as occasional travel
  • Membership in IECA, HECA, or NACAC, (or eligibility for membership)


Salary range: $60,000 - $75,000 for consultant and $75,000 - $95,000 for senior consultants, based on experience.

Hours: We work student hours: afternoons, early evenings, and one weekend day.

COLLEGE ESSAY COACH (PART-TIME)


As an essay coach, you'll work 1:1 with motivated high school students to outline, draft, and refine compelling college admissions essays. You'll collaborate with professionals who are deeply invested in each student's growth. We are looking for coaches with 2+ years of experience working with high school students and significant college essay-writing experience. We blend cutting-edge technology with individualized support to help students thrive.


Responsibilities:

  • Meeting virtually with students weekly
  • Providing written feedback to students 
  • Guiding students through the essay writing process
  • Creating a tailored essay plan for each student
  • Proofreading essay drafts
  • Communicating closely with students and parents


Requirements:

  • Genuine curiosity about each student's story
  • Strong writing, editing, and coaching ability
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and independent work ethic
  • Caring approach and desire to make an impact
  • Ability to connect with diverse students
  • Proficient with Zoom, Google Workspace, and project tools


Hours: Afternoons, evenings, and weekends during the academic year. Summer hours, primarily afternoons and evenings.


Pay: $40-$75 per hour

ADMISSIONS SPECIALIST (PART-TIME)


We are seeking a passionate, engaging college admissions specialist to join our fun, collaborative team in assisting high school students with the college application process. We are looking for coaches with 2+ years of experience working directly with high school students in a college counseling or admissions capacity.


Responsibilities:

  • Help students craft compelling resumes and activity lists that highlight their skills, achievements, and interests
  • Provide resume and activity list editing and feedback to strengthen students' applications
  • Guide students through completing college applications and supplementary materials
  • Assist students in researching best-fit colleges and universities 
  • Suggest enriching summer programs, camps, and other opportunities to boost college applications
  • Inspire and encourage students through the stressful admissions process with a positive, supportive attitude


Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; college counseling or admissions experience preferred
  • At least two years experience
  • Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport with high school students
  • Passion for mentoring and motivating teens
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable learning and utilizing latest technology and project management tools


You will be joining our fun, deeply committed team of college admissions professionals. This is a part-time position with flexible afternoon, evening, and weekend hours. 


Approximately 15-20 hours per week. 


Hourly pay rate is $30-45/hour based on experience. I
