College Consultant

College MatchPoint is hiring full time and part time college consultants to join our rapidly expanding team in Austin, Texas and the San Francisco Bay Area. As a consultant, you will guide a caseload of  students through the college planning and application process. You will join a team of smart, passionate, caring, relentless professionals who are deeply committed to helping students. 

We will provide you with all the tools you need to succeed, including work with students, administrative support, billing, a project management platform, and marketing. You will follow our proven model of success, which includes the most current technology tools combined with good old fashioned client care.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coach students through the college planning process using the College MatchPoint system

  • Advise students on their high school academic and extracurricular choices

  • Manage student deadlines throughout the college application process

  • Develop key relationships in your area to generate additional client base

  • Attend professional development events to continuously increase your knowledge of the college planning process

  • Write articles for the College MatchPoint newsletter and blog

  • Represent College MatchPoint at conferences and community events

  • Visit at least 25 colleges per year

Qualifications Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)

  • 3+ years experience in college counseling or college admissions

  • Commitment to the positive development of students and their families

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to thrive in a team environment

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Good sense of humor

  • Highest ethical standards

  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as well as occasional travel

  • Membership in HECA, NACAC, or IECA (or eligibility for membership)

Salary and benefits: $55,000-$65,000 (full time), based on experience, plus a bonus opportunity. We also provide a professional development and health care stipend each year along with three weeks paid vacation.

Part time positions are paid at a generous hourly rate plus bonus. 

Locations: Austin, TX and San Francisco Bay Area, CA (South Bay/Peninsula preferred)

Hours: We work student hours: afternoons, early evenings, and one weekend day. During the summer, we operate on a Monday – Thursday schedule.
