Educational Consultant

College MatchPoint is hiring independent educational consultants to join our rapidly expanding team. You will guide students and families through the college process using our proven model of success that includes the most current technology tools combined with good old fashioned client care. We are looking to add people in our Austin-based office as well as adding to our virtual team nationwide. We are looking for both full and part time consultants. 

We will provide you with all the tools you need to work with students such as administrative support, billing, newsletter, social media, project management platform, and marketing. In addition, you will have access to cutting-edge technology tools. And most importantly, you will join a team of smart, passionate, caring, relentless professionals who are deeply committed to helping students.  We will handle the back office details so you can do what you love—guiding students and families through the college admissions process.

Qualifications Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
  • 3 years experience in college counseling or college admissions
  • Membership in HECA, NACAC or IECA (or be eligible for membership)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to the positive development of students and their families 
  • Entrepreneurial worker who can work independently
  • Detail oriented with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Outstanding team player
  • Ability to work nights and weekends and occasional travel
  • Good sense of humor
  • Expertise with project management tools, the Google application suite, and social media tools
  • Highest ethical standards
  • Excellent presentation skills

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one college advising to students and their families using the College MatchPoint system 
  • Advise students on their high school academic and extracurricular choices
  • Serve as a resource to parents throughout the college planning process
  • Manage student deadlines throughout the college application process
  • Provide summer activity planning and application support
  • Develop college application and essay strategy plan 
  • Coach students through the college essay and application process 
  • Develop key relationships in your area to generate potential client base
  • Attend professional development to continuously increase your knowledge on the college planning process
  • Write articles for College MatchPoint newsletter and blog
  • Represent College MatchPoint at conferences and community events
  • Visit at least 25 colleges per year

Compensation: $45,000 - $50,000 salary, with performance bonus and benefits stipend

Hours: Typical hours range from 10 am - 7 pm (M-Th) depending on the day and 11-6 most Sundays.

Client Services Specialist

College MatchPoint is  hiring a Client Services Specialist to work in our Austin office.The ideal candidate has strong project management skills, with experience in project management systems. They have experience coordinating multiple projects in a detailed process, with internal and external stakeholders. They have a passion for assisting clients, with demonstrated success in building relationships with demanding clients in a high-impact process. They have managed an editorial process with a high attention to detail. We’re looking for someone with office experience, as well as both confidence and humility. Experience with the college admissions process is preferred.

Qualifications Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • Expertise with project management tools, the Google application suite, and social media tools.
  • All candidates must have availability outside traditional business hours.
  • Enjoys working with high school students and their families
  • Takes initiative; fast worker; independent
  • Creates systems to solve problems; natural organizer
  • Communicates effectively; excellent written skills (grammar nerd)
  • Excels in working as part of a larger team

Primary Responsibilities

The client services specialist plays a critical role on our team by:

  • Working directly with College MatchPoint students and families—at all stages of the college planning and application process
  • Coordinating all projects, including project tracking and reporting
  • Working closely with College MatchPoint team, including consultants and essay coaches
  • Managing team calendars with team and clients throughout the process
  • Meeting with students to assist with college planning and application process
  • Handling client needs and resolving client concerns or issues
  • Communicating with potential clients, including content marketing & social media
  • Organizing in-person & online events with current clients and potential clients
  • Researching college and university programs and summer programs

Compensation: $30,000- $35,000 salary, with performance bonus and benefits stipend.
